Congratulations on your engagement! Thank you for planning your wedding at St. Matthias Parish. We will assist you on receiving the Sacrament of Matrimony. Remember, you will be receiving a Sacrament where you will be embarking on a lifelong covenant beginning at the wedding ceremony where you will completely commit yourselves to one another before Almighty God, your families, the community, and the priest as the Church's witness. This will make your relationship a holy union binding until death and a holy family where ‘…two or more, gathered together in God’s name…’(Mt 18:20) through the Sacrament of Matrimony. The priests/deacons and staff of St. Matthias Parish are prepared to support and assist you in making your wedding ceremony a sacred occasion.
- The bride or groom must contact the parish at least six months prior by office phone at 724-966-7270.
- Requires membership in this parish by at least one of the parties (bride or groom) for six months prior to making wedding arrangements. Click "Join the Parish" for information on Parishes membership.
- Weddings should be scheduled six months in advance after you have contacted the pastor. Please contact the parish office (St. Hugh at 724-966-7270) to schedule your wedding ceremony.
- Participation in marriage program is required. All couples are required by Diocesan Law to attend a Pre-Cana Class prior to getting married and meet with the pastor.
