Dear Friends:
The ChristLife team at Saint Vincent Basilica Parish in Latrobe, PA, has extended an invitation to us to participate in their upcoming virtual Following Christ course which will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM beginning on January 19th. Specifically, they are looking for a dozen or so disciples from the Diocese of Pittsburgh to participate in this online course. Whether you have already participated in Following Christ but would like to experience the seven-week course again, know of individuals who have completed Discovering Christ but are looking for a Following Christ course, or are a parish leader interested in running Following Christ online and would like to use this as a learning opportunity before bringing the online ChristLife experience to your parish or grouping, please consider this wonderful collaborative opportunity. There is no cost to participate, but registration is required so that materials can be sent to participants. The following italicized text was sent to us by Paul Pomerleau, ChristLife team member at Saint Vincent:
Following Christ is the second of the three courses and leads growing missionary disciples into a daily prayer life, scripture reading, and other disciplines. Many of our parishioners have been through this course several times, and say that it is different for them each time as they grow in their faith journey and meet with new spiritual companions.
The method we have been using to invite participants since going online begins with our parish website page www.basilicaparishstv.org/christlife. This page includes “Why ChristLife” short video, some background, and now “Following Christ” info, video, and the REGISTRATION LINK.
If you are interested in learning more or registering, please go to www.basilicaparishstv.org/christlife. Feel free to share this link with others who may be interested. Contact information for the Saint Vincent ChristLife team is available at that link if you have any questions, but as always, feel free to email me with questions, as well.
In Peace,Life can be overwhelming. Too many worries, too many places to be, too many items on the to-do list. Do you ever wish for some way—any way—to slow down and really consider what it’s all about? Where do you currently find your meaning? Where do you want to find meaning? Is it possible to be fulfilled? These are questions worth asking.
Discovering Christ is for anyone who is curious. Enjoy a delicious dinner and listen to a thought-provoking talk that is designed to explore the meaning and purpose of your life. After the talk, you can share your thoughts in a small group (and talk as much or as little as you wish). It’s all done in a warm, friendly, and judgement-free environment. Discovering Christ is fun, relaxed, and free.

"I came to Discovering Christ as something extra to do as a Lenten observance. What I found was a longing to become closer to Jesus. I then attended Following Christ and my life has changed. I have a deeper relationship and prayer life as a result. I am closer to God and more open to try to do His will."
Ed Kocerka, Greensboro, PA
"Attending the ChristLife program has allowed me to grow in my prayer life. I have started to develop a relationship with Christ. I’m also developing a better understanding of what I believe."
Kristi Patterson, Carmichaels, PA
"I think one of the nicest things about attending the ChristLife program is meeting so many nice people. Together we are sharing and growing in our faith. I find myself being more prayerful and becoming closer to my God."
Ann DeVito, Jefferson, PA
"A program like ChristLife helps to get you through the strife of daily living. You need not think twice. The people are super nice and you’ll enjoy it. Our faith is a treasure to share and we all have crosses to bear. Come and join us. It’s a good experience meeting others from around the county, sharing our faith and growing together."
Rose Whipkey, Carmichaels, PA
ChristLife's 2020 Pilgrimage to the Holy Land has been rescheduled to October 18-28, 2021.
After praying, monitoring the situation around COVID-19, and speaking with our travel agency, we have made the difficult decision to cancel ChristLife’s 2020 Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We did not come to this decision lightly, but ultimately decided to cancel realizing many people may be facing unforeseen health and financial concerns at this time.
As we were preparing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this ministry, we could think of no better way to celebrate than by going on pilgrimage to the land of our Lord with the ChristLife family. However, when we are in the Holy Land, we want to be able to fully enter into the experience with you—praying together, singing together, journeying together.
